For those who aren’t familiar with the case, Morgan Dana Harrington was a 20-year-old Virginia Tech student whose disappearance on October 17, 2009  initiated one of the largest searches in Charlottesville, Virginia’s history. Sadly, her murdered remains were found 3 months later on Anchorage Farm in Charlottesville. It’s now been 3 years and the young woman’s homicide remains unsolved.

Morgan Harrington’s family is offering a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible. In addition, the band Metallica is offering an additional $50,000 to the reward bringing it to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Morgan’s murder.

Click Find Morgan for more information regarding this unsolved homicide.

You can also join Help Find Morgan Dana Harrington Facebook group, which has over 23,000 members. It has since turned into a Memorial type of page with members giving their own opinions and theories, trying to figure out what happened and who could be responsible.

A Facebook user posted a status yesterday morning which said that behavioral and geographical crime scene specialists have convinced Virginia State Police and FBI that Morgan’s killer was familiar with the territory where her remains were found in a small clearing near a tree-lined creek.

“They did not feel they would be discovered in bringing her here,” A crime scene specialist said. “The location is not something a person unfamiliar with this area is likely to find on a whim.”

michael_chitwoodMichael Roger Chitwood was abducted from his DeSoto County home on August 12, 1975. Two days after his abduction, his body was found in the Kissimmee River in Okeechobee County.

It is obvious that Chitwood was murdered and intentionally placed in the river but over 37 years later, his case remains cold.

kellie-jo-krum krum_kelsiKellie Jo Krum was 21-year-old and her daughter Kelsi Krum was 8 months when they vanished from their Arcadia home in DeSoto County on August 11, 1994 at approximately 11:30PM – 12AM. Kellie’s cousin, James Dennis “Jimbo” Ford, was the last known person to have seen her alive. Kellie was planning to move in with her parents to Sebring, FL and apparently was packing the night she disappeared. Ford also told police that when he was leaving Kellie’s apartment, she was on the phone with an unknown individual. Kellie and Kelsi Krum haven’t been seen or heard from since.

Authorities say that evidence and information collected suggest suspicious circumstances.

Foul play is suspected. Keep in mind it is possible that Kellie was murdered and Kelsi was kidnapped and raised elsewhere. This is just one of my theories and no evidence suggest this.

Detectives have been trying to solve this cold case for years – maybe you can help.

Blonde, blue-eyed, beautiful and blessed with a bubbly personality – the quintessential girl next door. That was Sharon Marshall. She was also very intelligent, an avid reader near the top of her high school class, listed in Who’s Who of American High School Students, a Lt. Colonel in the ROTC and she had earned a full scholarship to Georgia Tech University where she planned to study aerospace engineering. Sharon proudly graduated from high school in Forest Park, GA in 1986.

Only her name wasn’t really Sharon Marshall – she didn’t know what her real name was. Nor did she know who her parents were or even what day, month, year or in which city or state she was born. It is thought that Sharon was born sometime in the late 1960’s although no one knows for sure because Sharon had been kidnapped when she was just a toddler, probably sometime between 1973-1975.

Franklin Delano Floyd, a psychopath, sexual predator and convicted felon, abducted and raised Sharon as his own daughter while posing as her ailing father, all the while sexually abusing her from a very young age. Floyd would later claim that he had “rescued” Sharon when she was unwanted and abandoned by her biological parents.

The first known public record of Sharon exists in 1975 in an Oklahoma City school where she was registered under the alias “Suzanne Davis“.

SUZANNE DAVIS – 1975

Sharon’s good natured personality and good grades ultimately worked against her. Although she had few friends and sometimes dressed inappropriately, no one was suspicious of the young lady who had to be home by 4:30 p.m. everyday to help her sick father or wondered why she moved so often that she was in the fourth school in a single year during her high school career. If anyone did get curious and questioned her about the whereabouts of her mother, Sharon would explain that when she was a young girl her mother had died of cancer or she was known to tell others, her mother had died in a fatal car accident. When the questions became too probing or intense Floyd and Sharon would pick up and move to places like Oklahoma City, Louisville, Atlanta, Phoenix, Tampa, New Orleans and Tulsa.

It is known that upon her graduation Sharon moved to Phoenix, AZ.  Sometime during the next couple of years Floyd and Sharon moved to Tampa, FL where she gave birth to a baby boy on March 21, 1988 using the alias “Tonya Dawn Tadlock”. She subsequently named the baby Michael Anthony Hughes and it is thought she used the last name Hughes because at the time, Floyd was using the aliases Charles Hughes and Clarence Marcus Hughes although, he also used many other aliases over the span of his criminal career. The natural assumption is that Floyd was Michael’s biological father, however, this theory was disproved with DNA test results in the 1990’s.

DEATH ROW – Current Mug Shot

During this time period, Sharon began to work as an exotic dancer, her dreams of studying aerospace engineering by now a distant memory. Sharon made friends with Cheryl Ann Commesso, 19, an exotic dancer who worked at the same club. Cheryl was beaten and killed by two shots to the back of the head in 1989. She was dumped along Florida Interstate 275 and for a long time was known simply as “Jane Doe I-275”. Soon after, Floyd and Sharon left Florida and shortly after that, the trailor they had occupied burned to the ground.

In yet another twist to this stranger than fiction story, Sharon and Floyd were married in 1989 in New Orleans under the aliases Clarence Marcus Hughes and Tonya Dawn Tadlock. Floyd and Sharon, along with Michael, then headed to Oklahoma.

In April of 1990 Sharon was killed in a suspicious hit and run accident while both she and Floyd were being sought in connection with Cheryl Ann Commesso’s murder investigation. Floyd remains the primary suspect in the hit and run that killed his daughter/wife.

After his mother’s death, when DNA test results proved conclusively that Floyd was not Michael’s biological father, Floyds visitation rights were terminated and Michael was put into foster care. His foster parents, who had begun formal adoption proceedings, reported that when he first came to them Michael was non-verbal, had limited muscle control and often exhibited hysterical behavior. While in their care, however, Michael apparently made great progress.

In the final twist to this bizarre and sad story, Michael was kidnapped by Floyd from Indian Meridian Elementary School in Choctaw, OK on September 12, 1994. He held school officials at gunpoint and forced Michael and the school principal into the principal’s pick-up truck. Eventually Floyd let the principal go, basically unharmed but traumatized, tied to a tree. Young Michael was never seen again.

Floyd was arrested two months later in Kentucky where he steadfastedly refused to give any information as to Michael’s whereabouts. Floyd claimed Michael was out of the country or possibly in the Atlanta, GA area. However, multiple witnesses have come forward saying Floyd confessed to them that he murdered Michael by drowning him in a bathtub, somewhere in the Atlanta area. Still other witnesses say they saw Floyd bury Michael’s’ body in a grave. Floyd was tried and sentenced to 55 yrs in prison for Michael’s kidnapping.

Some time later, a mechanic working on Floyd’s old pick-up truck, which had been auctioned, discovered a multitude of photos wedged over the gas tank. The explicit photographs clearly proved Sharon had been subjected to sexual abuse her entire life. In addition, photos showing Cheryl Ann Commesso beaten and bound and sitting on the sofa in Floyd’s old trailor in Florida, were discovered along with photos of other females. These photographs were used as evidence against Floyd in the Commesso murder trial in 2002 where he was later convicted and sent to death row.

After Sharon’s death, upon further investigation into Floyd’s background, investigators learned that he was a career criminal who had first been arrested at the age of 17 in a gunfight with law enforcement during a burglary. Floyd was also arrested for abducting and raping a young woman at a bowling alley in 1962. All told, Floyd has admitted to convicting at least 19 felonies.

Floyd has not been convicted of either Sharon or Michael’s murders but is still under investigation for both crimes. He has a documented history of schizophrenia, was raised by two alcoholic parents and at some point was turned over to an orphanage by his mother who never came back to retrieve him. Floyd’s defense attorneys presented these facts in his defense at his trials in an attempt to solicit sympathy from the juries.

Franklin Delano Floyd now sits on death row at the Union Correctional Institution in Raiford, FL.

Sadly, Michael Hughes has never been located and is presumed dead. His mother “Sharon Marshall” still remains unidentified and is buried in Choctaw, OK.

Pictured; Angela ”Angie” Hammond

Henry County, MO – Angela ”Angie” Hammond, born February 9th, 1971, was a 20-year-old who lived in a peaceful, low-crime town in Clinton, Missouri. She was described as a popular, friendly, pretty young woman who got along with everyone. She was pregnant and engaged to her High-school sweetheart, Rob Shafer, a former highschool athlete who proposed to her and planned to be with her for the rest of his life. But that hope shattered when Angie was taken away suddenly.

On April 4th, 1991, four month’s into her pregnancy,  she and Rob attended a cook-out and after the cook-out she dropped him off at his home. Before driving away she kissed him and told him she would call him in a couple of hours. “That was about ten o’clock. I was going to meet her back uptown as soon as my mom got home. I was watching my little brother at the time. And she called later on that night.”  Said Rob.

At 11:45pm, approximately one-hour later, Angie pulled into a parking lot at a Food Barn Store in Clinton, about several blocks from her home to use the pay-phone and call Rob. The parking lot was empty, and as she was speaking to Rob, she mentioned a truck pulling in and circling the parking-lot and according to Rob, she said it was an older model (late 60’s early 70’s) green ford F-150 pick-up truck. At that point in the conversation she wasn’t very concerned. Clinton was a friendly town and she grew-up believing that. But, her feelings changed to uneasiness when the truck parked next to the booth’s and a ”filthy looking Caucasian man” got out to use the phone-booth next to her.,as she talked in the phone-booth.

“He used the phone next to her, got back in his truck, and looked at something with a flashlight. She described the flashlight to me over the phone. He was looking for something. I had her ask him if he needed to use the phone. Maybe the other phone was broken. And he said, no, he’d try again in a minute. Then we just talked about other things. We weren’t too worried about it. And that’s when I heard her scream on the phone.   I heard her scream. The only thing that went through my mind was getting up there and finding out what the hell was going on.   I just dropped the phone and ran out of the house. I didn’t hang the phone back up, and just headed up there.

As Robbie was driving towards the pay phone, a pick up truck sped past in the other direction:“Somebody yelled out the window, “Robbie!” That’s how I knew it was them.”

Rob turned around on the street and chased the pickup through downtown. The transmission was severely damaged due to Rob throwing his car into reverse. He didn’t realize until he drove two more miles and his transmission suddenly failed:“It started dying as I was making my right turn. This guy turned off to the right. All I saw was his brake-lights and dust.”

FORT WAYNE, IN, COLD CASE → April Tinsley was your typical eight year old but that all changed on good Friday, April 1st, 1988, also known as ”April fools day”. April was on her way home from a friend’s house in Fort Wayne, Indiana when she was kidnapped, raped and murdered by an unknown killer,  Three days later, her body was found on the side of the road, approximately 20 miles away, in an area of farmland.

Fort Wayne police department and other law enforcement agencies worked around the clock looking for April’s killer, media ended up drawing in many tips and leads which all lead to dead ends. April’s case has even made it to ‘America’s Most Wanted’ to no avail. However, John Walsh, host of the show, visited Fort Wayne on August 20th, 2012 to film the second episode of April’s murder hoping for answers or information.

Very little information or details are known about the killer. He is male, Caucasian or Hispanic and was last seen in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Below is a composite sketch of what April’s killer might look.

Two years after the murder of April Tinsley, a note appeared on a barn door near where her body was found. The note, seen below, read “I kill 8 yea old April Marie Tinsley. I will kill again”  Near the message, “ha ha” was faintly scrawled. Fourteen more years had passed when four more notes in a similar handwriting began appearing at several Fort Wayne residences. Three were left on little girls’ bikes; the fourth was in a mailbox. Whom ever wrote the notes claimed responsibility for the murder of April Tinsley and threatened to kill again.  They were written on yellow lined paper and placed in baggies that included used condoms and/or Polaroid photos. The notes stopped in 2004 and the killer hasn’t been heard from since. This could indicate a couple of things, he passed away or is currently in jail for a separate crime.

Police say this note was placed in a ziplock bag that also included a condom. They also say the DNA on the condom matches the DNA found on April Tinsley.

Included with the fourth and final note he left specifically for a young Fort
Wayne girl to see, were pictures of the suspect himself lying on a blue-green,
paisley-patterned bedspread.

Whoever murdered April Tinsley enjoyed taunting the young girl’s family, police, and the community, especially other little girls. The sick man got some type of twisted pleasure out of it. He needs to be caught, dead or alive so April Marie Tinsley and her family and anyone who has been victimized by this individual, can have justice and closure.

The little girls body was discovered on July 8, 2002, in an isolated area on Pleasure Island in Port Arthur, Texas, approximately 27 miles from her residence.

Police had few suspects but never had enough evidence to charge any of them. The case remains unsolved. $50,000 reward for information.

Article Below Published On July 4th, 2007 – 5 Years To The Day Of Dannarriah Finley’s Abduction

No arrest has been made in the July 4 disappearance and murder of 4-year-old Dannarriah Finley five years ago.

Her body was found four days later, July 8, 2002, about 27 miles from home by a pipeline inspector in a remote part of Pleasure Island in Port Arthur. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled before being left wrapped in a flowered bed sheet.

“It’s a horrendous case and the person needs to be brought to justice,” said John Kimbrough, Orange County district attorney. “I would like to see the case solved.”

Over the past five years the case has traveled back and forth between the district attorney’s office and the Orange Police Department. At times the DA’s office has requested additional information; investigators find the information and return it for review, said Chief Sam Kittrell of the Orange Police Department.

“We last sent the case over there about a year ago,” Kittrell said, adding the case is still not at a point to be presented to the grand jury, Kittrell said.

“The case is still open and is still reviewed,” Kittrell said. “We are looking for new forensic opportunities.”

Kittrell said he hopes new DNA techniques can help develop leads to Dannarriah’s killer.

“They are always developing techniques in the analysis of fibers with new microscopes and tests,” Kittrell said. “The new techniques are necessary in order to provide a degree of accuracy as to the source of the fiber.” (more…)
