A medical examiner has ruled that a Georgia county commissioner who drowned near a boat dock after suffering a gunshot to the head committed suicide, the county coroner said Friday.

Police found the body of 52-year-old Glynn County Commissioner Tom Sublett early on Dec. 11 in the water beside a docked boat on St. Simons Island. His wallet was in his back pocket and still contained his driver’s license and credit cards. An empty gun holster and a magazine loaded with 9mm bullets were found in Sublett’s car nearby, but no gun was recovered.

Glynn County Coroner Jimmy Durden said in a telephone interview that the manner of death according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab in Savannah is going to be suicide.

That conclusion is bound to prove contentious in the coastal community that was shocked by Sublett’s death two weeks before Christmas.

Authorities have spent nearly two months conducting a homicide investigation into Sublett’s death while offering a reward of $70,000 raised from fellow officials, friends and other private donors. And some evidence seems to contradict evidence that Sublett killed himself. Durden confirmed Friday that Sublett’s hands were bound in front of him when police found his body.

An attorney for Sublett’s family said his wife and other relatives ‘strongly disagree’ with any finding that he killed himself after leaving a poker game with friends.

‘There’s no history or even a notion of depression in Tom Sublett. There’s no alcohol abuse or drug abuse,’ Johnson said. ‘He was living his life in a normal way and proceeding with the normal daily activities and holiday season activities at the time this happened.’

GBI spokesman John Bankhead would not confirm that Sublett’s death had been ruled a suicide.

Daniel-Leija

Authorities have been searching for a child rapist who has been on the run for over ten years.

Daniel Leija, now 50, is a former school bus driver from Yakima County, who has had a warrant out for his arrest for first degree child rape in Sunnyside, WA between the years 1997-2002.

The two victims, also residents of Sunnyside, were both females under the age of fifteen during the five-year period in which the crime occurred.

In 2002, both females went to Sunnyside Police Department to report the rapes they endured over a five-year period. Police then uncovered trunks and backpacks filled with over 100 videotapes recording the assaults. Leija was arrested and charged with multiple counts of rape and exploitation of minors and was held on $250,00 bail. However, Yakima Superior Court Judge Heather Van Nuys reduced his bail to $60,000 and he was released after relatives came up with the lower amount.

He immediately fled the area after his bail-release and hasn’t been seen since.

According to U.S. Marshals, who eventually took over the case, Leija was last known to be in Mexico.

It is believed that he is living under a different identity and has most likely altered his appearance.

Back when his bail was reduced, Leija was facing 18 counts of first degree rape and molestation, eight counts of second degree rape and molestation, two counts of third degree rape and molestation, 12 counts of sexual exploitation and with jumping bail.

Taylor-Wylie is a woman who lived with Leija in Sunnyside prior to his arrant. She says all of the sexual assaults counts are for actions he took against her daughters over a five-year period. She said in 2002 her daughters complained about Leija’s sexual assaults.

Wylie contends that Leija has made return visits to Sunnyside to visit family. She said his family claims he has since drowned, which she calls a “blatant lie.

Wylie’s daughters are now young adults but according to her, the wounds are still open.

“We try to go on, but the girls, they’re still drastically affected by it,” Taylor-Wylie said. “Anger, fear, tears… they’re so fragile.”

Taylor-Wylie says she and her four daughters, who now live in Bremerton, want to see Leija brought to justice.

Daniel Leija was recently featured on America’s Most Wanted, with the latest airing on October 12, 2012.

Menendez (right photo) Boehm (left photo)

Sarah Rae Boehm, a fourteen-year-old female teen, was described as a good student, cheerleader, and participated in her former school’s band.  The last time she spoke to her parents was 10p.m. on July 14, 1994, telling her that she was planning on staying at a friend’s house. She was reported missing less than 24 hours later to local law enforcement in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Several months later, on November 4, 1994, Sarah’s remains were discovered in the “Berlin Reservoir,” located within a Ohio state park, Portage County, Ohio. This rural community in Ohio was located approximately two hours away from the victim’s home in Pennsylvania.

Additionally, Kathryn Menendez, another female teen victim, went missing on August 21, 1994, and her nude body was found several days later on an oil road near the “Berlin Reservoir.” Kathryn had been strangled to death. Both Sarah and Kathryn’s bodies were located approximately 1/2 mile apart in the same Ohio state park. Seventeen-year-old Kathryn was from Portage County, Ohio.

Information is being sought in both cases. Specifically, how Boehm from Pennsylvania ended up murdered in Ohio and information regarding the murder of Menendez. Investigators believe the two cases may be related. The FBI from both Pennsylvania and Ohio have been working closely with local law enforcement from Portage County, Ohio, as well as Beaver County, Pennsylvania.

Photo Of Ashley Freeman (Left) And Lauria Bible (Right)

Missing Since December 30, 1999 from Oklahoma

Unsolved: Ashley Freeman lived in Welch, OK and had just celebrated her ”Sweet 16th” Birthday on December 29, 1999 with her best friend, Lauria Bible, a girl she grew up with.  She also had her boyfriend, Jeremy Hurst, come over but he left that night around 9:30pm.

Sweet turned to sour when, at 6am the following morning, a 911 call from the neighbor saying the Freeman trailer home was on fire and that the girls were inside. Police raced over and so did Jay and Lorene Bible, Laura’s parents. They began looking through the ashes and discovered the body of Kathy Freeman, Ashley’s Mother.

Police could not find the bodies of Danny Freeman, Ashley and Lauria. They theorized that he killed Kathy and abducted his daughter and her friend, however, his remains were found a day later on new years day. They both had been shot in the head before the fire.

Lauria Bible nor Ashley Freeman were never found.

Lauria’s purse was left behind with $200 in it suggesting they might have been abducted and robbery was ruled out as a motive.

Due to several mistakes in the investigation, much of the evidence at the crime scene was destroyed or tampered with. By the time the OSBI and FBI came to the scene, they had little to nothing to go on.

Photo Of Kathy & Danny Freeman

There were no suspects in the case, but before his death, Danny had warned his brother, Dwayne Vancil, that if anything happened to him to look at the Craig Count Sheriff’s Department. His son, Shane, had been shot and killed by a deputy after taking a truck, and they were about to file a wrongful death lawsuit on the department. The deputies voluntarily took themselves out of the investigation, and the case was turned over to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and the sheriff’s department all passed polygraph tests. Another theory was that Danny was a small time drug trafficker, and that he had met with two unidentified men two weeks before the murder, one of whom he did not want there and made them leave, but that theory never fit with the girls’ disappearance. Some believe Ashley killed her parents and fled with Lauria, because there was evidence of friction between Ashley and her father, but authorities do not believe that the girls could have hidden out for so long and those who knew the teen stated she wasn’t violent, and cared about her mother a lot.

This case was aired on July 3, 2001. It was also profiled on America’s Most Wanted and Vanished With Beth Holloway.

Jeremy Bryan Jones and another man have both “confessed” to having led both Lauria and Ashley from the house and killing them elsewhere, but one confession has been proven false, and the other confession is suspected to be false as well. The girls have never been found.

The Freeman Family:

Ashley was living with her parents and her older brother, Shane Freeman, in a trailer-home in Welch, Oklahoma. Her family had problems that required counseling due to her brother Shane stealing his Uncles pick-up truck in 1998, and other behavioral issues. Shane was also charged with breaking into Lauria Bible’s family home in the first week of January, 1999. He had stolen some of Lauria’s possessions along with money and guns that belonged to the Parents of Lauria Bible.

That same week, on January 8th, 1999, Shane was driving a stolen vehicle that belonged to a neighbor. When the car broke down on a Oklahoma Country road. A Police Officer would later state that when he went to investigate and arrest Shane, that he (Shane) pulled a gun out of his back pocket. The Officer shot and killed Shane On January 8th, 1999. The incident was later investigated and it was ruled in favor of the Officer. Many people have their own theories of what happened that day. The Freeman family had an ongoing feud with the Welch Sheriff’s Office due to Shane being killed in what they believe was cold-blooded-murder. According to them, Shane was shot in the backside which would make the Officer’s account of what happened, false.

In the Summer of ’98, Ashley’s father Danny , who is known to have a violent temper, was charged with abusing Shane. Her father stated that the whole incident was exaggerated and overblown although visible marks were on Shane.

Shane isn’t the only one who caught the bad-end of Danny’s temper. In 1985 he was charged with beating his father-in-law after the man trimmed his bushes without asking Danny first. Rumors stated that Danny was involved in drugs and was verbally and physically abusive of his children, although he denies this.

Kathy Freeman was unlike her husband or son, she was considered the main bread-whiner who always showed up to work. A loving, dependable, caring person who didn’t have trouble with the law.

Pictured; Ray Frank Gricar – Missing From Pennsylvania

Ray Gricar is a missing person from Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, United
States. Gricar was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, but moved to Pennsylvania In 1980 and attended State College. After a brief stint as an assistant district attorney, Gricar was elected district attorney of Centre County later that year. He was re-elected four times before announcing that he would not run for re-election in the 2005 campaign. Sadly, Gricar didn’t get to enjoy his ”golden years”. In  2005, Gricar went missing in what is considered a ”suspicious” disappearance.

On the morning of April 15th, 2005 Ray Gricar called his girlfriend and told her he was going to go for a ride in his vehicle which was a red and white mini cooper automobile along Route 192 in Penn’s Valley.

Gricar’s live-in girlfriend began to get worried when he wouldn’t answer his cellular phone and when he failed to come home that day, she went ahead and called authorities.

His vehicle was found in Lewis-burg, Pennsylvania, near the Susquehanna River, the following day (4/16/05) abandoned in a parking-lot. His possessions were found inside his car which included his cell-phone and laptop with his cell phone inside. Those who knew Ray Gricar immediately feared the worse. Searches were conducted, tips and leads were followed, yet the missing man was never found.

Police conducting searches days after Gricar went missing

According to the FBI website, Ray Gricar may also use the names Ray Lange or Ray Gray. He has ties to Ohio and California.

Centre County authorities declared Ray Frank Gricar legally dead on July 25th, 2011. Over 6-years after he was last seen alive.

Lara Gricar, Ray’s adopted daughter, had petitioned the court to declare him dead so his assets could finally be distributed. Lara has long refused to speak to journalists and lives in Washington state, which has made people assume there own theories.

A internet user wrote:

”If it was my family missing I would be speaking to every journalist and writer that would give me a chance. I wouldn’t just go and petition to declare him dead so I could collect.”

Pictured: Victim – April Marie Tinsley

FORT WAYNE, IN, COLD CASE → April Tinsley was your typical eight year old but that all changed on good Friday, April 1st, 1988, also known as ”April fools day”. April was on her way home from a friend’s house in Fort Wayne, Indiana when she was kidnapped, raped and murdered by an unknown killer,  Three days later, her body was found on the side of the road, approximately 20 miles away, in an area of farmland.

Fort Wayne police department and other law enforcement agencies worked around the clock looking for April’s killer, media ended up drawing in many tips and leads which all lead to dead ends. April’s case has even made it to ‘America’s Most Wanted’ to no avail. However, John Walsh, host of the show, visited Fort Wayne on August 20th, 2012 to film the second episode of April’s murder hoping for answers or information.

Very little information or details are known about the killer. He is male, Caucasian or Hispanic and was last seen in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Below is a composite sketch of what April’s killer might look.

Two years after the murder of April Tinsley, a note appeared on a barn door near where her body was found. The note, seen below, read “I kill 8 yea old April Marie Tinsley. I will kill again”  Near the message, “ha ha” was faintly scrawled. Fourteen more years had passed when four more notes in a similar handwriting began appearing at several Fort Wayne residences. Three were left on little girls’ bikes; the fourth was in a mailbox. Whom ever wrote the notes claimed responsibility for the murder of April Tinsley and threatened to kill again.  They were written on yellow lined paper and placed in baggies that included used condoms and/or Polaroid photos. The notes stopped in 2004 and the killer hasn’t been heard from since. This could indicate a couple of things, he passed away or is currently in jail for a separate crime.

Police say this note was placed in a ziplock bag that also included a condom. They also say the DNA on the condom matches the DNA found on April Tinsley.

Whoever murdered April Tinsley enjoyed taunting the young girl’s family, police, and the community, especially other little girls. The sick man got some type of twisted pleasure out of it. He needs to be caught, dead or alive so April Marie Tinsley and her family and anyone who has been victimized by this individual, can have justice and closure.

PHILADELPHIA — Danielle Imbo, then 34,  had known Richard Petrone, then 35, since she was fifteen years old. Though they had gone to different high schools in New Jersey (she attended Cherry Hill High School East while he was at Bishop Eustace Prep in nearby Pennsauken) Danielle was good friends with Richard’s sister, Christine. Danielle had a ”crush” on Richard, but he had been so consumed with playing ice hockey at the time, he hadn’t picked up on her interest. It wasn’t until much later that they rediscovered one another and became a couple, but by this time, Danielle had been married and divorced once. The man’s name was ”Joe Imbo” who had threatened Richard a few times over the phone but isn’t a suspect as of now.

It was a chilly night, February 19th 2005, when Richard Petrone and Danielle Imbo vanished, along with the pick-up truck they were driving. The disappearance was truly a mystery and still is. No phone calls to friends or family members, no ransom notes, no wreckage, no remains. After years of searching for the missing couple, the police say they have “zero physical evidence.” Despite extensive searches, Richard’s 2001 four-door Dodge Dakota pickup has not been located. Richard’s and Danielle’s credit cards and ATM cards have not been used since they walked out of Abilene’s that night. There has been no activity on either of their cellphones. Surveillance cameras that routinely record transactions at ATM machines showed no signs of either of them. Video cameras at highway toll plazas and river crossings have no record of Richard’s truck passing through that night. It’s as if they vanished into thin air.

“Not a lipstick, not a bag, not a shoe, not a car, not an eyewitness, not a tip, not anything,” Danielle’s brother, John Ottobre said.

They were last seen at Abilene’s bar and restaurant on South Street in Philadelphia, and Richard’s best friend Rick Bellezzi stated that the couple “left the club happy at about 11:45pm.”.. Many who knew the two of them stated they were NOT the type to up and leave without an explanation. They were very happy with there lives and all they had left behind and just wouldn’t walk away from friends and family like that.

A reward of $100,000 is being offered for any information that will lead to the whereabouts of Danielle and Richard, and police in Philadelphia and New Jersey as well as the FBI continue to search for the couple. But so far they’ve come up empty.

Danielle Imbo is an attractive brunette with hazel eyes and an infectious smile. Her friends agree that she’s “very smart” with a great ”personality and sense of humor.” One friend described her as a “very blunt” person, “a tell-it-like-it-is type of girl.” A few years before her disappearance, she sang in a rock band called the ”School Boys”, following in the footsteps of her late father, Johnny Ottobre, who in the 1950s had been the lead singer in a well-known doo-wop group called the ”Four Dates”. She has a tattoo on her lower back, a symbol of her astrological sign (Leo) inside a horseshoe of flowers.

Richard Petrone has two tattoos. One is of a clown which is located on his right arm, the other is his daughter’s name (Angela) tattooed on his left arm. He is described as being ”good natured and jovial” He has a stocky, solid build. He has brown hair, blue eyes and usually wears a goatee or a sculpted full beard. Richard is also described as layed back type of guy who liked occasionally drinking beer with friends and relaxing after a long week, a good personality, someone who loved his family and friends too much to ever leave on his own accord.

Richard and Danielle’s family miss them and want answers. Some fear the worst while others try to remain hopeful that one day they will get there loved ones back.

According to Sergeant Tim Cooney of the Philadelphia Police, “No one is a suspect and everyone is a subject of this investigation.”

The Mystery Remains as of 2012
