eder_wantedCarl Alfred Eder was a 16-year-old homeless teenager in the fall of 1958 when Thomas Pendergast, a family man and father of four, seen the young man hitchhiking alone on the San Diego Freeway and decided to give him a lift. He later invited the teen to stay at his home until he got a job and got on his feet.

Less than two months later, on December 12, 1958, a gruesome discovery was made at the Pendergast family home in El Cajon.

Thomas Pendergast had gone to work earlier that day and came home to his wife Lois Pendergast, 4-year-old daughter Diane, 2-year-old toddler named Allen, 6-year-old Thomas Jr. and 9-year-old David, who all had been bludgeoned/stabbed to death.

They were murdered in cold blood and Eder was the culprit.

When Eder was being interviewed by police, he told them that Diane Pendergast, the 4-year-old, was annoying him so he flipped out. He ran and got his shotgun and shot Mrs. Pendergast in the head. He then got a butcher-knife and went after Diane, stabbing her viciously and slashing her throat. He then went after the toddler with just as much force and after killing him, he proceeded to attack the rest of the family.

They were stabbed so violently, authorities say they were disemboweled.

When Mr. Pendergast arrived home from work, Eder made him drive him around until he (Eder) decided to flee on foot. Mr. Pendergast then went back to his home and that’s when he discovered his butchered family.

El Cajon police arrested Eder and he was booked and went to trail where he was convicted and sentenced to two life terms. He was serving his sentence in Tehachapi, CA when he escaped in 1974 at age 32 years of age.

Two years after escaping, a badly composed body was discovered on the Pendergast property–chained to two cinder blocks. The male had been dead two weeks but it wasn’t Eder.

Karen_KingKaren Lynn King (pictured left) is a 52-year-old woman from Canton, Georgia who is wanted by authorities for murdering her husband, 46-year-old Lyndon Baines Smith in Cherokee County 10 months ago.

Police say King as well as her two sons, 22-year-old Lyndon Ahlik Smith and 17-year-old Alonte Lyndell Smith, along with 22-year-old Robert Sylva Jr, 22-year-old Melvin Floyd and 24-year-old Will Cortez Robinson, also known as his stage name ”Scrapp Deleon,” all residents of Atlanta, Georgia, to help her murder her husband who was also the father of Lyndon and Alonte.

King and the five young men had planned and plotted what they were going to do for some time and on March 4, 2012, they put their plan into action.

Smith was unknowingly lured by his sons to a BridgeMill community in Canton  and while there, the five men attacked him. After beating him, Melvin Floyd placed his body into a 2004 Mercury Sable and drove to Alabama. During this long ride, Smith was still clinging to life in the trunk.

Floyd was stopped during a routine traffic stop and cops suspected something illegal was going on due to Floyd’s suspicious behavior. They asked him to get out of the vehicle, placed handcuffs on him, and proceeded to search his car. When they opened the trunk they discovered the badly beaten body of Smith, who was near death. Floyd was immediately arrested and Smith was rushed to the local hospital where he died shortly after.

The other four suspects, including Smith’s two sons, were all eventually arrested but Karen King, who was dubbed the ”mastermind” behind the murder, remains on the run.

According to authorities, King has ties to Miami, Florida which is the same City her son was captured in.

Daniel-Leija

Authorities have been searching for a child rapist who has been on the run for over ten years.

Daniel Leija, now 50, is a former school bus driver from Yakima County, who has had a warrant out for his arrest for first degree child rape in Sunnyside, WA between the years 1997-2002.

The two victims, also residents of Sunnyside, were both females under the age of fifteen during the five-year period in which the crime occurred.

In 2002, both females went to Sunnyside Police Department to report the rapes they endured over a five-year period. Police then uncovered trunks and backpacks filled with over 100 videotapes recording the assaults. Leija was arrested and charged with multiple counts of rape and exploitation of minors and was held on $250,00 bail. However, Yakima Superior Court Judge Heather Van Nuys reduced his bail to $60,000 and he was released after relatives came up with the lower amount.

He immediately fled the area after his bail-release and hasn’t been seen since.

According to U.S. Marshals, who eventually took over the case, Leija was last known to be in Mexico.

It is believed that he is living under a different identity and has most likely altered his appearance.

Back when his bail was reduced, Leija was facing 18 counts of first degree rape and molestation, eight counts of second degree rape and molestation, two counts of third degree rape and molestation, 12 counts of sexual exploitation and with jumping bail.

Taylor-Wylie is a woman who lived with Leija in Sunnyside prior to his arrant. She says all of the sexual assaults counts are for actions he took against her daughters over a five-year period. She said in 2002 her daughters complained about Leija’s sexual assaults.

Wylie contends that Leija has made return visits to Sunnyside to visit family. She said his family claims he has since drowned, which she calls a “blatant lie.

Wylie’s daughters are now young adults but according to her, the wounds are still open.

“We try to go on, but the girls, they’re still drastically affected by it,” Taylor-Wylie said. “Anger, fear, tears… they’re so fragile.”

Taylor-Wylie says she and her four daughters, who now live in Bremerton, want to see Leija brought to justice.

Daniel Leija was recently featured on America’s Most Wanted, with the latest airing on October 12, 2012.

12/28/12 QUEENS, NYC — NYPD Searching For Unidentified Woman Accused Of Killing Man By Pushing Him Onto The Subway Tracks

Scene outside NYC subway station where man was pushed to his death onto tracks in front of oncoming train on night of Dec. 27, 2012, according to police, in the city's second such incident this month.

NYPD are searching for the unidentified woman who they said fled a train station immediately after pushing an unsuspecting man to his death at a Subway Train Station in New York City.

The man, who has not been identified, was standing on the elevated platform of a 7 train in Queens Boulevard in the Sunnyside neighborhood at approximately 8pm last night (12/27/12) when an unidentified woman shoved him onto the tracks.

According to witnesses, the woman was supposedly following the man while mumbling to herself and although her mumbling drew attention, it appears the victim had not noticed he was being followed. According to police, the woman was sitting on a bench and when the train pulled in, she got up and shoved the man down. The man had apparently been standing with his back to her and the woman pushed him at the last possible second, giving the man no time to defend or save himself.

The victim was hit by the first car of an 11-car northbound train and got stuck under the wheels of the second. He was pronounced dead at the scene and according to NYPD, he had sustained ‘terrible injuries that make providing a description difficult at this time.’

I heard the train screech as it was stopping and then heard this loud scream,‘ Linda Santini-Tripodis, who was under the 40th Street station at the time, told The Sunnyside Post. ‘I’m never going to forget that scream for as long as I live.’

Crime scene: The shocking incident occurred at a station in Queens, pictured, and is the second horrific case this month

This isn’t December’s first NYC Subway murder. Earlier this month, a very similar attack happened which involved a man being pushed his death on the subway tracks in NYC.

On December 3, 2012, 58-year-old Ki-Suck Han was pushed to his death in Time Square by Naeem Davis, a thirty year old homeless man who was also described by witnesses as ‘mumbling to himself’ shortly before pushing Han in front of a train. Davis was soon arrested after being identified on surveillance tape. He has been charged with first degree murder.

Kisuck Han Funeral

Photo of Ki-Suck Han a forty-eight year old married man who was killed earlier this month in a similar attack

A photograph of Han on the tracks a split second before he was killed was published on the front of the New York Post the following day, which caused outrage and debate over whether the photographer, who had also been waiting for a train, should have tried to help him and whether the newspaper should have run the image. Apparently no one else tried to help up Han, either.

Police viewed footage from a 24-hour surveillance camera outside a pizza restaurant located across from the station and were able to obtain clear images of the suspect, according to The New York Times.

‘She jumps from the stairs and she just runs,’ said Oasis Restaurant owner, Giovanni Briones.

Briones went on to say that he did not recognize the woman but that a restaurant regular was on the train and felt a bump as it ran over the man.

Police have very little to go on and are hoping the public will help in identifying the suspect who is described as being 5’5” tall, heavy-set Hispanic female, in her twenties wearing a blue, white and gray jacket and Nike sneakers with gray on top and red on the bottom.
